Human Resources Generalist – Summer Position

 

The Role

As an HR student, you are wanting to gain experience in the HR field and you are keen to learn as much as you can about human resource activities from cradle to grave of the employee relationship.

We are looking to hire one human resources summer student from May to the end of August 2023.  This position will report to the Human Resources Manager and be part of a great work culture that values a people-first philosophy in all that we do.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Human Resources Manager in the day-to-day activities of a dynamic and entrepreneurial workplace.
  • Participating in talent acquisition activities that include organizing, revising, and creating job postings while being creative in advertising and assisting in all aspects of the recruitment process.
  • Revising and organizing employee onboarding program.
  • Researching best practices in employee recognition programs.
  • Supporting administration in maintaining and updating employee files.

Qualifications

  • You are working towards a degree, diploma or certificate in Human Resources and have demonstrated clear initiative in your work and student experiences to date.

Project Coordinator

Location: Calgary/Hybrid work options

The Role

As a Project Coordinator for the Audio-Visual team, you enjoy being organized, detail-oriented and successfully assisting the Project Managers with managing multiple projects from start to finish, working collaboratively with a team, and seeing the client satisfied with the final result.  This is an entry-level position that is a great match for someone who is organized and takes initiative to ensure the projects are successful.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Managers in managing the day-to-day interactions of multiple projects with internal team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Coordinate, plan and implement the day-to-day interactions of multiple projects with internal team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Review and acquire a thorough knowledge of contract documents for each assigned project including but not limited to project scope of work, bid drawings, and specifications, contract, subcontractor scopes of work and construction schedules.
  • Provide support for projects to the defined scope of work, implement scope management procedures and defined timelines to deliver projects on schedule.
  • Pro-active preparation and planning to minimize exposure and risk across multiple projects.
  • Review and present deliverables across projects and report project status to relevant stakeholders, including the internal team and clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and focus on building client relationships.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Audio/Video integrations and installations is an asset.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter, tech-savvy, and work independently.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and attention to detail skills.

Project Coordinator – Infrastructure

Location: Calgary

Role

If you enjoy an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and collaborative environment, Ignite Technology has an opportunity for you to further your career in infrastructure and project coordination. This is a newly created position for Ignite and it will require initiative, organization, and past project coordination experience to help shape the role. This position reports to our National Director, Operations and is part of our project management team that delivers on projects across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and maintaining a thorough understanding of the project scope, execution plans, and project specifications.
  • Experience with building project timelines / creating Gantt charts/workflows.
  • Coordinating timelines with customer requirements and the project team.
  • Tracking project progress and accountability in ensuring employees meet deadlines and celebrate milestones.
  • Updating all stakeholders on project progress and schedule.
  • Facilitating all aspects of project closeout, including documenting lessons learned and maintenance going forward.
  • Being an ambassador of Ignite Technology both internally and externally.

Qualifications

  • Fundamental understanding of Information Technologies – Networking, Server, Unified Communications, and Security
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Project or other Gantt charting tools

Qualifications

  • Experience in digital enterprise installation is required – ideally 3+ years in the AV field
  • Previous experience in home theatre and residential installations and/or working with digital signage is an asset
  • Previous experience in basic carpentry or framing experience is an asset
  • Ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Experience with troubleshooting or operating Control Systems & DSP’s
  • Certifications in CTS or CTS-I or related field is an asset

Audio Visual Field Technician – Experienced

Location: Toronto, Ontario

Role

The Audio Video Field Technician will have extensive experience in the AV field, perhaps have a background in the trades and an appetite for learning.  Our clients are corporate clients, we do not do event planning, rather we partner with our clients to ensure that they are optimizing their current Audio-Visual equipment or assisting them with installing new technologies. Related trades and or skillsets may include construction trades, electrical apprentices, and communications (cabling contractors).

Responsibilities

  • Installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to pulling wire, terminations, mounting displays and configuring peripherals.
  • Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • Use hand and power tools, from soldering connections to cutting cable cubbies into existing boardroom tables.
  • Collaborate with Ignite team members to ensure clear communication, project delivery and execution and problem solve as situations arise.
  • Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • Experience in digital enterprise installation is required – ideally 3+ years in the AV field.
  • Previous experience in residential home theatre installations and/or working with digital signage is an asset.
  • Previous experience in basic carpentry or framing experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work and think independently and meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Experience with troubleshooting or operating Control Systems & Digital Signal Processor (DSP’s).

Audio Visual (AV) Designer/Estimator – Intermediate

Location: Toronto, Ontario

As an AV Designer/Estimator, you love technology and want to work on designing Audio Video solutions for our clients.  This involves Discovery, creating drawing packages, building statements of work and bill of materials. The AV Designer/Estimator is an amazing opportunity to grow your career in the fast-moving audio-visual industry. Responsibilities

  • Working with the sales team to build solutions by assessing client needs/requirements
  • Following industry standards, work with the drafting team to build AutoCAD drawing packages, including elevations, circuit diagrams, riser, and rack elevations.
  • Creating AV bill of materials, writing project scopes and proposals.
  • Developing and implementing site surveys and site reports.
  • Supporting and working under the mentorship and direction of the senior design team and reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, National

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years working in the audio-visual industry in a similar role (or) 3+ years working in the audio-visual industry in non-design role.
  • Intermediate understanding of network, and network-related items.
  • Intermediate understanding of Audio video equipment, connectors, and signal flow.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting and documentation skills.
  • Must be organized and able to handle multiple sales opportunities and projects.
  • Strong customer-facing skills and comfortable presenting to customers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Nice to have but not required

  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS, CTS-D, or CTS-I) certification from AVIXA
  • A/V Manufacturer certifications (Crestron, Biamp, AMX, QSC, etc,.)

Unified Communications (Collaboration) Engineer 

Location: Across Canada/Remote (Home Based) Position – we have physical offices in Calgary or Toronto if a hybrid schedule is preferred.

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Cisco Value Added Reseller (VAR) or consulting environments.

Solutions Engineer

Location: Calgary/Hybrid Options

The Role:   As a Solutions Engineer, you will be required to participate in discovery calls with our Account Executives, create and deliver presentations, demonstrate the features of Ignite’s portfolio, and create customized technology solutions for the client.

To ensure success, you should have an in-depth knowledge of software and hardware systems, a passion for creating technology solutions, and high-level communications skills. A suitable candidate drives sales by creating specialized technology solutions, tailor-made to the customer’s needs.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Conducting client discovery calls with account executives
  • Managing IT projects from inception to completion
  • Meeting with clients to discuss their hardware and software needs
  • Strategizing with the sales team and lead architects to create customized solutions
  • Creating and delivering presentations
  • Designing and installing customized technology solutions for the customer
  • Testing the performance of the installed system and remediation of any shortfalls
  • Developing relationships and maintaining customer relations

Qualifications

  • 5+ year experience as a technical lead, technical manager, technical designer, or equivalent
  • 8+ years experience of Windows based operating systems (Server & Desktop)

  • 8+ years experience of Window Server applications (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, Printer Systems, RDS, etc.)
  • 8+ years experience in networking including wireless, wired, security, and basic design.
